Cornelis Troost was said by far to be the most original and versatile artist of his age, even THE outstanding Dutch artist of the 18th century. He was a genre and portrait painter, who excelled in private-life scenes and painted chiefly in pastel, although this is an oil painting.

In close cooporation with Thexpat.tv and The Mauritshuis, the Legal expat Desk of GMW Advocaten directed short footage on referrals in paintings to legal aspects of expat life in the Netherlands.
